What does this do?

This utility updates the Realtek High Definition Audio Device Driver to version 5.10.0.5233 to address the following issues:

  • High frequency noise can be heard when the Windows Volume Control, Master Volume is set to minimum volume.
  • Playback is audible even though the Windows Volume Control, Master Volume is set to minimum volume.

Important Notes
  • After installing this driver, a "Found New Hardware Wizard " will appear. This will go away after the modem driver is installed.
  • During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
Download and Installation Instructions
  1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  2. Download the REDAUD-01184301-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the REDAUD-01184301-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
  4. At the "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver" screen, click "Next".
  5. At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
  6. At the "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver Setup" screen, click "Next".
  7. At the "Maintenance Complete" dialog, click "Finish" to restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Realtek High Definition Audio Device Driver is complete.
