What does this do?

This utility updates the Sony VAIO Support Agent application and resolves the following issues:

  • Microsoft : Visual C++ Debug Library - Debug error message.
  • Unable to safely remove the PCMCIA Network Controller.

Important Notes
  • Before downloading this update, please follow the steps below to verify the version of the VAIO Support Agent software installed on your computer. This program will only update computers that are installed with the version listed below. Please note that these steps may vary slightly by operating systems.
    1. Double-click the My Computer icon.
    2. Double-click the C: drive icon.
    3. Double-click the Program Files folder.
    4. Double-click the folder.
    5. Double-click the client folder.
    6. Double-click the Version folder.
    7. Double-click the version text file located in this folder.
    8. Check the version number. It must be either 5.0.426 (Rev#1) or 5.0.417.
    9. If the version number does not match one of the these values, reinstall the Support Agent software from the Recovery CDs which came with the computer and then check the version number again. If the version number still does not match, then this update does not apply to your computer.

  • During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
Download and Installation Instructions
  1. Download the SOQ4324BGL.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SOQ4324BGL.EXE file to begin the installation.
    The program will verify your computer model and the version of the VAIO Support Agent software before continuing with the update.
  3. At the "VAIOSupportUpgradeAgent" box, click Yes to continue with the installation.
    Please wait as the program updates the VAIO Support Agent application.
    NOTE: If a "Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library" box appears during installation, click Abort. The VAIO Support Agent Upgrade Utility will then continue installation.

After the update has completed, the VAIO Support Agent icon will appear in the System Tray of the Microsoft Windows operating system Taskbar.
