What does this do?

This utility will install the Sony MPEG Realtime Encoder Board driver for the Sony VAIO notebooks with the UGP-PRAV1 AV Entertainment Docking Station to resolve the following issues:

  • The TV application sometimes will not open.
  • Movies are recorded incorrectly.
  • The Giga Pocket application sometimes fails to record content from a non-copyright protected DVD, such as a home-made DVD.

Important Notes
  • Before beginning the installation of this update, please attach the docking station to the computer.
  • During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
Download and Installation Instructions
  1. Download the SO-180300802FO04US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double click the SO-180300802FO04US.EXE file to begin the installation.
  3. At the "Sony MPEG Realtime Encoder Board Driver for Microsoft Windows XP" box, click Next.
  4. At the "License Agreement" dialog box, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree".
  5. At the "Finished" box, click Finish, then OK to restart your computer.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony MPEG Realtime Encoder Board driver is complete.
