- Download the HOTKEY.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
- Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click HOTKEY.EXE to begin the installation.
- At the “HOTKEY Utility – Welcome” box, click Continue.
- At the “Welcome to HOTKEY Utility Setup” screen, click Next.
- At the “Choose Setup Language” box, verify “English” is selected and click OK.
- At “Welcome” box, click Next.
- At the “Setup Complete” screen, click Finish.
- Follow the steps below to restart the computer.
- Click Start and click Shut Down.
- At the “Shut Down Windows” box, select “Restart” and click OK.
After the computer restarts, installation of the Sony Hotkey Utility is complete.
NOTE: If it is necessary to install the HOTKEY.EXE utility again, you will need to first remove the HOTKEY.EXE installation files. To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to the directory where the HOTKEY.EXE file was downloaded and double-click it.
- At the “HOTKEY – Welcome” window, click Continue.
- At the “Confirm File Deletion” box, click OK.
- If a “ReadOnly File Detected” message box appears, click the box next to “Don’t display this message again” to check it and then click Yes.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
- At the “Control Panel” window, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- At the “Add/Remove Programs” window, select the “HotKey Utility” entry.
- Click the Change/Remove button.
- At the “Confirm File Deletion” box, click “Yes” to remove all the components.
- At the “Remove Programs From Your Computer” box, click OK.
- Click Close to exit the “Add/Remove Programs” window.
- Click the X in the top-right corner to close the “Control Panel” window.
