This utility installs the ATI Rage Mobility-M1 PCI/AGP Display driver.

Note: Not all models are sold in all countries. This file is only for use with the products identified and sold in United States, Latin America, or Canada.


Important Notes
  • To install these drivers correctly, this utility requires Windows 2000 to be installed on the boot partition (C:). The drivers will not be installed correctly if Windows 2000 is installed in a different hard drive partition. To perform a "Clean Install" of Windows 2000 Professional in the (C:) partition, please read Installing the Windows 2000 Operating System. If a Windows 2000 BIOS update is available for your model of notebook, it is strongely recommended to install it before installing this update.
  • During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
Download and Installation Instructions
  1. Download the RAGE5W2K.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the RAGE5W2K.EXE file to begin the installation.
  3. At the "ATI Rage Mobility-M1 Display Adapter Driver v5.00.2195.4045a for Windows 2000 - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically. The ATI Windows 2000 Driver Setup will launch.
  4. At the "Welcome" box, click Next.
  5. At the "Software License Agreement" box, click Yes. Please wait as the driver files are copied to the computer.
  6. At the "Setup Complete" box, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and click Finish. As the computer restarts, the video hardware will be redetected and the drivers will be installed.

The installation of the ATI Rage Mobility-M1 Display Adapter Driver is complete.
