What does this do?

This utility installs the Bluetooth™ driver and the Blue Space NE utility for Windows XP Home Edition and Professional with Service Pack 1 Installed.

Important Notes
  • Before installing the Bluetooth driver, the Windows XP operating system Service Pack 1 must be installed.
  • Because of installation requirements, the Bluetooth driver utility will install the Windows QFE Q323183 and Q811228, and the Blue Space NE utility will install the Sony Share Library.
  • Set the Wireless Switch to On position, ensure the Bluetooth light is on before installation. If Wireless Switch Setting utility is installed, select the Bluetooth or Bluetooth + Wireless LAN setting.
  • During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
Download and Installation Instructions
  1. Download the AL-725350802CB04US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double click the AL-725350802CB04US.EXE file to begin the installation.
  3. At the "Bluetooth Driver and Blue Space NE utility for Windows XP" box, click Next.
  4. At the "END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT" screen, read the agreement, then if you agree, click "I Agree". Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
  5. At the "Please select item to install" screen, click Next, if you want to install both the Blue Space NE and the Bluetooth driver. If you do not need to install both utilities, clear the check box next to the item you do not need to install.
    NOTE: It is recommended to install both utilities if you have a clean installation of Windows XP. To install the Bluetooth driver, you will need to have the Windows XP Service Pack 1 preinstalled.
  6. At the "Bluetooth Driver Utility has successfully installed, This utility will now install the Virtual COM Port Driver" box, click OK. The Hardware Wizard for Bluetooth Virtual COM Port will launch shortly. If the Bluetooth Virtual COM Port is already installed, the Hardware Wizard will not launch, click Finish to complete the installation.
  7. At the "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard for Bluetooth Virtual COM4" box, click Next.
  8. At the "Complete Found New Hardware Wizard" box, click Finish.

The installation of the Bluetooth driver and Blue Space NE utility is complete.
