Important Notes
  • Before installing this utility, you must first install the following Core Driver components in the order listed below:
    1. Sony Notebook Control Device Utility
    2. Sony Programmable I/O Control Device (only for the PCG-C1XS, PCG-F370/F390, PCG-F420/F430/F450/F480/F490, PCG-N505VE, PCG-N505VX, PCG-XG9, PCG-XG18/XG19, PCG-Z505HE/Z505HS)
    3. Sony Utility Dynamic Link Library
    4. Sony Extended BIOS Dynamic Link Library

    If you have already installed these components on the computer (for another Windows 2000 software update), it is not necessary to reinstall them.

  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
Download and Installation Instructions
  1. Download the PWPNL.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click PWPNL.EXE to begin the installation.
  3. At the "PWPNL - Welcome" box, click Next.
  4. If an "Overwrite Protection" box appears, click the Yes to All button.
  5. At the "Welcome" box, click Next.
  6. At the "Choose Destination Location" box, click Next to accept the default Destination Folder (C:\Program Files\PowerPanel).
  7. If a "Question" box appears, click Yes to overwrite the existing PowerPanel files.
  8. At "Setup Complete" box, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and then click Finish.

After the computer restarts, installation of the Sony PowerPanel Utility is complete.
