Sony PCG-XG38 Notebook Sony USB Memory Stick Driver Upgrade Utility [Win2000]

• For Windows 2000 users: During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

1. Download the SMS130ALL.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SMS130ALL.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for Memory Stick™ Formatter – InstallShield Wizard” box, click Next. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
4. At the “InstallShield Wizard Complete” screen, click Finish.

The installation of the Intel PRO/100 VE Network Driver is complete.

BEFORE reinstalling the Sony Memory Stick™ Formatter, it is necessary to first remove the existing SMS130ALL.EXE installation files.

To do so, please follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
2. At the "Control Panel" window, click Add/Removes Programs.
3. At the "Add/Remove Programs" window, from the list of installed applications, click the "Memory Stick™ Formatter" entry.
4. Click the "Add/Remove" button.
   NOTE:  In Windows 2000 click the Change/Remove button.
5. At the "Confirm File Deletion" box, click Yes. Please wait while the files are uninstalled.
6. At the "Maintenance Complete" box, click Finish.
7. Click Close to exit the "Add/Remove Programs" window.
