This utility updates the Sony DV Shared Library.

Note: Not all models are sold in all countries. This file is only for use with the products identified and sold in United States, Latin America, or Canada.


Important Notes
  • For Windows 2000 systems only: During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
Download and Installation Instructions
  1. Before installing this update, follow the steps below to uninstall the original version of the DV Shared Library:
    1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
    2. At the "Control Panel" window, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
    3. At the "Add/Remove Program" box, in the list of "Currently installed programs," click the "Sony DV Shared Library" entry to highlight it.
      NOTE: If the Sony DV Shared Library is not listed, it has already been uninstalled. Click OK to close the "Add/Remove Program Properties" box and then skip to step L.
    4. Click the Change/Remove button. The Sony DV Shared Library Setup program will launch.
    5. At the "Confirm File Deletion" box, click OK to remove all of the components.
    6. If a "Shared File Detected" box appears, click the check box next to "Don't display this message again" (to check it) and then click Yes.
    7. At the "Sony DV Shared Library Setup" message box, click OK.
    8. Click Start and click Shut Down.
    9. At the "Shut Down Windows" box, select "Restart" (if it isn't already selected) and then click OK.
    10. After Windows has restarted, if a "PTLACPI" box appears, click OK to close it.
    11. If a "Phoenix BatteryScope" box appears, click OK to close it.
    12. Click the X in the top-right corner to close the "Control Panel" window.
  2. Download the DVLIB22.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the DVLIB22.EXE file to begin the installation.
  4. Please follow the on-screen prompts carefully to complete the installation.
