This utility will install the Sony Notebook LCD Monitor Driver.

Important Notes
  • This driver is not Microsoft WHQL certified. A “Hardware Installation” warning message may appear more than once during this installation. If it appears, click “Continue Anyway” to proceed with the LCD driver installation.
  • This driver installation will set the screen resolution to the default 1024 x 768 setting.
  • During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
Download and Installation Instructions
  1. Download the SO-W12000802IF.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SO-W12000802IF.EXE file to begin the installation.
    NOTE: If a “Your system will now reboot” message appears, click OK to restart the system.
  3. At the “Sony Notebook LCD 1.2.0 Driver For Windows XP- InstallShield Wizard” click Next. Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
    NOTE: If an “Information” box appears prompting you to restart to verify the system model, click OK. After system restarts, please continue with step 5 above.
  4. At the “Digital Signature Not Found” box, click Yes to continue the installation.
  5. At the “Setup Complete” screen, select “Yes, I want to restart my computer now.” and click Finish.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Notebook LCD Driver is complete.
NOTE: This driver installation sets the screen resolution to the default 1024 x 768 setting. If desired, please follow these steps to change to a different video resolution.
