Sony PCG-SR17 Notebook Sony Pre-installed Programs Uninstaller Utility [WinXP]

• This utlity replaces the previous Sony Pre-installed Programs Uninstaller Utility (UNINSTALL.EXE, 10/25/01). This version (UNINSTALL2.EXE) offers improved compatibility with some Windows 2000 systems. If the original version has already been used to upgrade the computer to Windows XP, it is not necessary to download and run this newer update.
• Please read the Sony Windows XP Upgrade Information page, if the computer will be or has been upgraded to the Windows XP operating system. If the new operating system is not installed or configured correctly, some updates may not install properly.
• If Windows XP is installed, during the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

1. Download the UNINSTALL2.EXE file to the root of the C: drive (C:\).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the UNINSTALL2.EXE file to begin the uninstallation process.
   Several setup boxes will briefly appear throughout the process. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically, and the uninstallation status will be displayed.
3. The computer will twice restart automatically to complete the applications uninstallation process.

After the computer restarts the second time, the uninstall process of the Sony applications is complete.
