What does this do?

This program installs the Sony Notebook Setup Utility, allowing you to confirm or change system information, including the Power On Password, and hardware settings.

Important Notes

• Before installing this utility, you must first install the following Core Driver components in the order listed below:
  
  
  1. Sony Notebook Control Device Utility
  2. Sony Programmable I/O Control Device (PCG-C1XS, PCG-F370, PCG-F390, PCG-F420, PCG-F430, PCG-F450, PCG-F480, PCG-F490, PCG-N505VE, PCG-N505VX, PCG-XG9, PCG-XG18, PCG-XG19, PCG-Z505HE, PCG-Z505HS only).
  3. Sony Utility Dynamic Link Library
  4. Sony Extended BIOS Dynamic Link Library
  
  If you have already installed these components on the computer (for another Microsoft Windows 2000 software update), it is not necessary to reinstall them.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions

1. Download the SNSETUP.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click SNSETUP.EXE to begin the installation.
3. At the "SNSETUP - Welcome" box, click Continue.
4. At the "Choose Setup Language" box, verify English is selected and then click OK.
5. At the "Welcome" box, click Next.
6. At the "Choose Destination Location" box, click Next to accept the default Destination Folder (C:\Program Files\Sony\Sony Notebook Setup).
7. At the "Question" box, click No to prevent the software from loading automatically when the computer starts.
8. At "Setup Complete" box, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and then click Finish.

After the computer restarts, installation of the Sony Notebook Setup utility is complete.
