Important Notes

• For Windows XP Upgrade systems only: Please read the Sony Windows XP Upgrade Information page, if the computer will be or has been upgraded to the Windows XP operating system. If the new operating system is not installed or configured correctly, some updates may not install properly.
• If Windows XP is installed, during the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions

1. Download the SDV239XP.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. If a previous version of the DV Shared Library is still installed on the computer, follow the steps below to uninstall it. Otherwise, continue with step 5.
   1. Click Start and click Control Panel.
   2. At the "Control Panel" window, click the "Add or Remove Programs" icon.
   3. At the "Add or Remove Programs" box, from the "Currently installed programs" list, click the "Sony DV Shared Library" entry to highlight it.
   4. Click the Change/Remove button.
   5. At the "Confirm File Deletion" box, click OK. Please wait as the files are uninstalled.
      NOTE: If a "Shared File Detected" box appears, click the "Don''t display this message again" box (to check it), and then click Yes.
   6. At the "Maintenance Complete" screen, click Finish.
   7. Click Close to quit the "Add or Remove Programs" box.
   8. Click the X in the top-right corner to close the "Control Panel" window.
   9. Restart the computer.
   10. After the computer restarts, continue with step 5.
3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SDV239XP.EXE file to begin the installation.
4. At the "Sony DV Shared Library 2.3.02.07090 For Windows XP - InstallShield Wizrd" box, click Next.
5. At the "Sony DV Share Library For Setup" box, click Next.
6. At the "Choose Destination Location" screen, accept the default location and click Next.
7. At the "Start Copying Files" prompt, Click Next.
8. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, click Finish.
9. Restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony DV Shared Library is complete.
