What does this do?

This utility installs the Sony MPEG Decoder update and does the following:

• Enhances the compatibility of Sony Digital Still Capture (DSC) camera MPEG files
• Resolves a distortion problem that occurs on some Sony computer models

What products and operating systems does this apply to?

Important Notes

• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions

1. Download the SONYDCDR.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SONYDCDR.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Sony Electronics Inc." screen, click Finish to begin the Sony MPEG Decoder install.
4. At the "Welcome" box, click Next.
5. At the "Choose Destination Location" box, click Next.
6. At the "Start Copying Files" box, click Next.
7. At the "Sony MPEG Decoder Library Setup" box, click OK.

After the setup program closes, the installation is complete. It is recommended to restart the computer for optimal results.
