What does this do?

This utility copies the originally installed version of the Intel RAID Driver to a floppy disk.

NOTE: This driver is for use when performing a clean install of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system (i.e., from a commercial, off-the-shelf, version rather than using the Recovery Wizard or Recovery Media).

• This utility requires a blank formatted floppy disk.
• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions

1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
2. Download the INDHDC-00698618-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the INDHDC-00698618-US.EXE file.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to extract the driver files to floppy drive (A:\).
5. At the "WinZip Self-Extractor" dialog, insert a blank formatted floppy disk into the computer''s floppy disk drive, and then click "OK".
6. At the "WinZip Self-Extractor - INDHDC-00698618-US.EXE" dialog, click "Unzip"NOTE: By default the utility unzips all files to the floppy disk in the A: drive.
7. At the "8 file(s) unzipped successfully" dialog, click "OK", and then click "Close".

The Intel RAID Driver files have been written to the floppy disk.

1. Begin the Microsoft Windows operating system setup by booting from the installation CD.
2. At the beginning of Windows operating system setup, press the "F6" key to install a third-party SCSI or RAID driver.
3. When prompted, insert the floppy disk with the RAID driver files.
4. After reading the floppy disk, the Intel RAID Controller will be presented, select this driver to install.
5. Finish the Windows operating system installation and install all necessary drivers.
