What does this do?

This utility updates the VAIO Media™ Integrated Server to version 4.1.05.02240, and resolves the following issues:

• Unable to play a reserved recording video capsule after selecting the contents.
• Unnecessary files remain on the system after performing a timer recording.
• After logging off the computer multiple times, you are unable to log off, restart, or shutdown the computer.

• SonicStage software version 2.0 or higher must be installed. Check your computer''s support page for available updates.
• Computers with Giga Pocket software must have the latest version 5.x . Check your computer''s support page for available updates.
• Computers with Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition must have Service Pack 2 installed.
• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions

1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
2. Download the SOAVMS-00958502-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SOAVMS-00958502-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
4. At the "Sony VAIO Media™ Integrated Server" screen, click "Next".
5. At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.NOTE: Please wait as the utility extracts the installation files and checks the computer model.
6. At the "Welcome to InstallShield Wizard for VAIO Media Integrated Server Update" screen, click "Next".
7. At the "InstallShield Wizard" complete dialog, click "Finish" to complete the installation.
8. At the "Finished" screen, click "Finish".

The installation of the SONY VAIO Media™ Integrated Server Update is complete.

NOTE: After completing the installation, run VAIO Media Setup to configure the VAIO Media software, and to start the VAIO Media server.
